1.Program description

The Washington Park Pediatrics Text Messaging Program (the “Program”) is operated by Academy Services Group LLC (“ASG,” “we,” or “us”), a management services organization that manages non-clinical operations, including patient communications, for its client Washington St Pediatrics, LLC d/b/a Washington Park Pediatrics, with offices in Newark and Elizabeth, New Jersey. Through the Program, our office staff send and receive text messages with patients’ parents and legal guardians, and with adult patients, about:

• Appointment reminders and scheduling
• Responses to questions from patients, parents, and guardians
• Billing questions
• Office updates, such as changes to office hours or closures

All messages are customer care and informational messages. We do not send marketing or promotional messages.

2.How you agree to receive text messages (opt-in)

Patients provide their mobile number at registration or by phone and agree verbally to receive text messages from Washington Park Pediatrics. Patients may also start a conversation by texting our office number.

At the front desk or by phone

When you register or update your information at either office or by phone, our staff ask for your mobile number and read you this statement:

If you say yes, our staff record your consent, including the date, in your account. If you say no, you will not receive text messages, and your care is not affected.

By texting us first

You may start a conversation by texting (973) 622-3890 (Newark) or (908) 998-2345 (Elizabeth). When you text us first, you agree to receive replies from Washington Park Pediatrics about your request.

Consent is not a condition of service. This website does not collect phone numbers, and we never buy, rent, or use purchased lists of phone numbers.

3.Message frequency

Message frequency varies. How many messages you receive depends on your appointments and on the conversations you have with our offices.

4.Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier’s standard messaging and data rates may apply.

5.How to opt out

Reply STOP to opt out at any time. You can also reply END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT. After you opt out, you will receive one message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and we will not send you more text messages unless you opt in again.

To start receiving messages again, reply START or ask our front desk. You can also opt out by telling our staff or by emailing admin@academygroups.com.

7.Carrier disclaimer

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8.Privacy

We protect your information as described in our Privacy Policy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

9.Health information and emergencies

Text messages are answered during office hours. Please do not send detailed medical information by text message; call the office instead.

10.Who may take part

The Program is for parents and legal guardians of our patients, and for adult patients. By opting in, you confirm that you are the account holder for the mobile number or that you have the account holder’s permission to use it.

11.Changes to these terms

We may update these SMS Terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated.
